Procrastination involves ignoring an unpleasant, but likely more important responsibility in favor of one that is more enjoyable or easier.

It is one of the major hindrance to achieving your aspirations.

Beating Procrastination

  • Commit – Focus on doing not avoiding. Write down the tasks that you need to complete, and specify a time for doing them. This will help you to proactively tackle your plan.
  • Act as you go – Tackle obligations as soon as they arise, rather than letting them build up over another day.
  • Minimize distractions – Turn off social media, television, Email and focus on the task at hand.
  • Tackle your hardest task at your peak times – Get the unpleasant tasks out of your way during your peak times or first thing in the morning and leave the rest of the day to enjoy the pleasant tasks.
  • Get an accountability partner – Ask someone to check on you and keep track of your progress.
  • Reward yourself – If you complete a difficult task on time, reward yourself with a treat. Make sure you notice how good it feels to finish things.
